Job Title: Consultant

(Initially fixed term contract of 1 year)

Reports to: Country Manager, Nederland

Principal Accountabilities

To play and active role in consultancy business development. To design and deliver consultancy services that meet client needs in OPP’s core solutions areas, including leadership and team development, talent acquisition and management. To project manage these interventions where required.

  1. Business Development
    • To play an active role, in conjunction with the Country Manager and Business developer in following up consultancy leads and winning work. Provide sound technical expertise and demonstrate interpersonal skill and professionalism in interactions with senior level client contacts (equivalent of HR Director level)
    • Support the preparation of proposals tailored to achieve clients needs.
    • Follow internal business development processes effectively and encourage others to do the same
    • Contribute to OPP Benelux marketing, such as planning and attending breakfast seminars, contributing to articles / case studies, representing OPP at conferences etc.
  2. Consultancy Delivery
    • Design and deliver consultancy projects to high quality standards (without close supervision). Over time, projects may include,
    • Designing and delivering team and group events at middle management level, facilitating groups to address issues such as communication, change, conflict or leadership.
    • Working at all levels including senior management level in all aspects of talent management and development work.
    • Contributing to the design and delivery of leadership development programmes.
    • Conducting follow-up action planning/Personal Development Planning sessions
    • Selecting and working proactively with Associates, providing guidance and feedback.
    • Assessing on a range of assessment centres, including acting as lead assessor at middle management level
  3. Project Management
    • Manage projects effectively and without the need for supervision. Ensure that projects are delivered profitably and to an appropriate level of quality and that the client relationship is handled effectively in conjunction with the Sales team.
    • Follow OPP’s / clients’ project management processes including regular and timely monthly reporting, regular and accurate invoicing, informative post implementation review, incorporating client feedback and provision of feedback on Associates performance to the Country Manager.
  4. Knowledge Development
    • Contribute to establish a firm proposition of consultancy in the Benelux market
    • Contribute to the OPP’s “solutions” approach by developing or contributing to the development of new offerings.
    • Speak to clients knowledgeably about OPP products and services.
  5. Training
    • Assist with the delivery of qualifying training as required.
    • Carry out other such duties as may reasonably be required, commensurate with the grade of this post.

Essential competencies

  • Degree in Psychology or other social sciences
  • Track record of credibility in delivering a wide range of business psychology consulting solutions and applying psychometric tools and techniques to a broad range of clients (sector and seniority) in a commercial environment.
  • Design and delivery of consultancy without supervision (e.g. team building, AC/DC, team / group facilitation one to one coaching, psychometric feedback).
  • Hands on experience of managing projects without supervision.
  • Expertise in one of the following: Leadership, Teams, Talent Acquisition and Management

  • Psychology qualification
  • 16PF, MBTI and/or FIRO-B qualified
  • Psychology qualification
  • Qualification in other psychometric tools
  • Experience of contributing to marketing, e.g. writing articles proposals, aanbestedingen and presenting.
