Fight, flight or face it?

The average UK employee spends over two hours a week dealing with conflict, which means in total more than 370 million working days were lost last year at a cost to British employers of more than £24 billion. Who's fooling whom?
According our research, nearly half of UK employees admit that the interview process failed to reveal their true selves: when interviewing for their current job, they adapted the way in which they presented their personality to try and 'fit in' with the company. And of those who put on a false face to try and impress, a third confessed that they projected a very different personality from their true one.

Dream job or career nightmare?
We undertook this research to understand whether working life meets the aspirations of employees in some of Europe's key markets. What were people's career hopes when they were young? Is it now a case of dreams fulfilled or daily grind? Are people making the best use of their natural talents and skills? Crucially, what support are they getting at key decision points in their lives and in their work to help their ongoing development?
